What is Longhorn Halloween?

Longhorn Halloween is a family-oriented, carnival-style event for the children and families of staff, faculty and students. Longhorn Halloween is held outdoors on the Speedway Mall.

What is recommended age range for attendees?

Longhorn Halloween is recommended for families with children up to age 13.

Is parking provided at Longhorn Halloween?

Complimentary parking is provided at Brazos Garage (BRG) during Longhorn Halloween. Guests will be required to pull a ticket for entry to BRG, but the exit gate will be raised for the duration of the event.

What activities are available?

UT Austin student organizations offer a wide variety of tabletop activities, including face-painting, carnival-style games and more. Guests can enjoy larger installations, including inflatable playhouses and interactive exhibits from UT Austin faculty and student volunteers.

Are food and drinks available for attendees?

There will be multiple food and drink options for free and for purchase distributed along Speedway Mall, courtesy of University Housing and Dining and additional food and drink vendor partners. Water will be provided in large distribution tanks (“water monsters”) along Speedway Mall. Candy will also be distributed, trick-or-treat-style, at each student organization’s booth.

What is appropriate attire?

Children are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes and participate in the costume contest! Parents may also choose to wear a costume.  Because late October weather in Austin can be unpredictable, wearing light, breathable, comfortable clothes (or costumes) is recommended for all.
